THE STORIES BEHIND THE NEWS
HFA Foundation to Award Two Grants at The HFA Show 2026
The grant recipients will be named at the HFA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on March 15 in San Diego.
The HFA Foundation is wasting no time in advancing its mission to support programs, groups, and individuals who have a positive impact on community health. A 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the HFA Foundation was formed in 2012 to create programs that connect fitness facilities with local initiatives to promote health through exercise.
As with last year’s inaugural HFA Hall of Fame induction ceremony, every ticket sold at this year’s Hall of Fame event supports the HFA Foundation. This 2026 induction ceremony (sponsored by the Bay Club Company) will be held on March 15 in San Diego, a day before The HFA Show 2026 opens at the San Diego Convention Center.

This year, the Foundation has its own awards to hand out. At the HFA Hall of Fame ceremony, two $5,000 grants will be awarded to HFA members who completed a grant application process. Its $5,000 Community Innovation Grants recognize HFA members who are leading the way in improving community health through innovation and partnerships.
This is the first year the grants are being awarded, and the HFA Foundation plans to make it an annual offering. Grant recipients were selected by the HFA Foundation Board of Directors.

Criteria for the HFA Foundation Grants
Applicants were evaluated based on:
• Innovation: Creative and original approaches to community engagement
• Community Impact: Targeted improvements in physical activity and health outcomes
• Collaboration: Partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, local government, businesses, or nonprofits
• Sustainability: Programs designed for long-term success
• Measurable Outcomes: Clear metrics showing positive results
